Bio

After years of meditating and working in the tech field, Rebecca was the lead designer for the live online version of MBSR at UMASS Center for Mindfulness (CFM), training teachers to teach online, and creating the free weekly Worldwide Online Sit. She has also received training through Bangor University in assessing MBSR teachers, using standards from the MBI:TAC (Mindfulness-based Interventions Teaching Assessment Criteria). Rebecca’s personal practice is guided by her teacher, Pema Chödrön, and she was featured giving meditation instruction in two courses taught by Pema Chödrön: Making Friends with Yourself and How to Live with Compassion and Courage. Rebecca has taught mindfulness programs to cancer survivors, people in chronic pain, business and community organizations, medical and mental health professionals, lay ministers, and monastics. Before moving from Virginia to Massachusetts in 2016 to teach MBSR online and in person, and train MBSR teachers through UMASS CFM, Rebecca co-founded The Integrative Medicine Community of Hampton Roads in Virginia and served as a hospice volunteer.
