Bio

Margaret has been helping people to come alive through mindfulness for almost 20 years. Prior to co-founding East Coast Mindfulness, Margaret was a senior teacher and teacher trainer at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Her focus there was to study, teach and train professionals in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Margaret was previously Guiding Teacher for White Mountain Sangha, a non-dual meditation community in New Hampshire. She has developed programs and courses for non-profits, corporations, churches, city and state governments, hospitals, schools and universities. Having explored the possibilities of offering mindfulness online, Margaret has been delighted by the power of online learning to bring the world together. During her tenure at the Center for Mindfulness, she fell in love with the work of encouraging and training new teachers, through in-person trainings and online meetings. In 2018, she was invited to join an international cohort of mindfulness trainers to document best practices for guiding teacher development using the Mindfulness-Based Interventions Teaching Assessment Criteria (MBI-TAC). She has trained with Bangor University in assessing teacher competency using the MBI-TAC. She is adjunct faculty for the Lesley University Masters in Mindfulness degree, and is the featured teacher in the online Anticancer Lifestyle Program. Margaret brings over two decades of experience in corporate, small business and non-profit settings to her teaching and training.  She is a founding member of the New Hampshire Professional Mindfulness Community.
